I don't think you should of backed out at all, the game turned out really well considering the time restrictions and its always good to have a finished game. That's more than most other "game developers" can say.
I just made some small updates based on your original comment. I will do more work on the controls at a later time. And thank you, your comment to not back out is a huge encouragement for future jams!
