Nice job. I love the theme and the gameplay hook is a really good idea in both that it's a fun mechanic and adds to the atmosphere. There were some issues, like I could survive and escape after dying if I was close enough to the exit, and I didn't feel like I needed to move the player much until all enemies were dead, but overall I think you have made a very creative entry and did well with the theme!
