Suberb game! Everything from the sound design, to the graphics, to the camera work, to the cool pixellated filter was excellent! I really enjoyed the game, but the game was a bit finicky at times. I wish that you could prioritize magnetizing on the direction you're holding, the lack of control made it really finicky to make it past sections like the following:

Kept magnetizing back to the place I walljumped frum

This was another section that suffered because of that. Btw did you know you can jump across spikes like this?

Got baited by this background element, jumped off the cliff and died roughly 0.2 seconds after this picture.

Overall excellent game, I especially liked the section with the big boy that evaporates you! I also liked how the 'story' progressed, although I feel like the last and second-to-last levels should be swapped story-wise, so it can build up a sense of dread for those things before you see one up close.

(also the Z for the tutorial looked like a 2 in the tutorial so I had to go to the itch page to find the controls, I might just be stupid though)

thank you for the detailed review! i understand your critique of the controls. im not sure if magnetizing in the direction you click is the solution because it would kill many of the other puzzles, but i can try and tackle that in another way.  and i was amused to see that spike exploit on a stream! luckily it doesnt let you cheese the puzzle though :P

Yee my idea was that it would prioritize magnetizing in the direction you're holding, but if the magnetic surface in that direction was too far away it would still magnetize to the closer surface. But you're the game dev, I'm sure you can think of a more elegant solution! And yeah I thought I was so clever until I realized that I couldn't jump back up on the platform
