I'm very impressed with the solid game juice when jumping and dying. The sound for jumping should've been for hitting the ground with a more "boing" type sound when actually jumping, that's a tiny detail tho. I think failure is still failure so I'm not sure how strongly the theme is represented, but the game is very fun and requires fair skill. I enjoyed it, the one thing gameplay wise I'd say is that I had no idea where the red squares would appear, it doesn't feel very fair when I respawn because of hitting an invisible wall that injures me I couldn't have predicted at all.

Ah, I see. That kind of ties into the theme that way. The issue with that though is your fail state is reachable by your success state, i.e. dying to reveal the squares, and also dying by hitting the squares. It's a little dissonant. It's a tough theme to create a tight and well designed challenge for, we struggled with it for our game too but yeah this is good stuff all in all.
