Ah, so I'm not seeing those files there. Only a blank "GifSquid" text document.

It really sounds like you're missing some files and/or AE isn't set to allow scripts to write files/access network.   Please try re-extracting the JSXBIN file and the GIFsquid folder into your AE/ScriptUI folder and double-check the preference to allow scripts to write files.  In your case, the script is choking at the point it should be able to write to C:\programdata

Did you ever get this working?

Hello, I'm having the same problem. I did everything you suggested,  but I keep getting the "AE has crashed" notification and it just renders the comp as an .avi file and then nothing else happens.

Hi Mikel, Just to double-check, you are on Windows and you've done all of the installation steps, including setting AE to "allow scripts to write files and access the network"?

Yes, I copied the files to Script Ui Panels and scripts were already activated and I even reset my preferences and turned them back on, just to double check.

Ok, next let's look at squidyavi.bat inside of c:\programdata

Open it in notepad and paste the contents here.

There is no such file in that folder...

If it isn't there, it isn't getting written by the script. This is almost always because AE isn't set to allow scripts to write files. Please double-check this setting is checked.

It's turned on, 100%.
I reinstalled After Effects and GIFsquid. I'll wirte the process, because maybe there is a different mistake:

->Installed After Effects, turned Scripts on (all of my other Scripts work)

->Installed GIFsquid: Copied everything from the Zip to: C;\\program files\adobe\after effects cc 2018\support files\scripts\scriptui panels.

-> Started a new project file, copied my file into the project, created a comp from the file, clicked on window and gifsquid, clicked squirt gif and then the message shows up. And it only renders a .avi file.

Can't find any squidyavi.bat in c:\programdata, nor in the folder where i rendered the file to.

I'm sorry, I don't understand why it isn't working for you. I'm going to PM you and see if I can arrange a refund for you, as well as offer to let you try another script I am working on.

It looks like itch.io doesn't allow for PMs. You can email me at hellphish@gmail.com with the email you purchased with and I'll get you sorted

For others coming this far. I found a solution with going to C:\Program Files\Adobe After Effects CC 2019\Support Files\Scripts\ScriptUI Panels\GIFsquid\bin and running convert.exe. I needed to give permission to run it since Windows flagged it as a risk. I still get the modal pop-up with GigSquid thinking AE crashed, but it outputs the gif.

Hello, I am having the same issue. I managed to make a short capture of my "Squirt GIF" execution.

Can you explain a bit more about what the bug is and what you've tried to fix it?
