it's just that the side view kind of made it feel like a platformer (even though there was no jumping) and than the top down view is usually used for rpg's. so switching between the perspectives almost made it feel like it was switching back and forth between two genres that just didn't mesh well together.(kind of like when you eat a grapefruit and than drink milk, the acidic taste of the grapefruit just ruins the taste of the milk) I hope this makes sense, and that you aren't offended by it, that's just how it felt to me.
