Thanks for the feedback and kind words yo, glad people like the story and art! (My main focus due to a super limited engine).

If you're willing to explain what it was about the perspective shift you didn't like I'd love to know! As for the black box, that's a part of the limitations in Bitsy, no layers, so you're just constantly replacing a tile you touch with occasional conditional programing for items/sprites.

it's just that the side view kind of made it feel like a platformer (even though there was no jumping) and than the top down view is usually used for rpg's. so switching between the perspectives almost made it feel like it was switching back and forth between two genres that just didn't mesh well together.(kind of like when you eat a grapefruit and than drink milk, the acidic taste of the grapefruit just ruins the taste of the milk) I hope this makes sense, and that you aren't offended by it, that's just how it felt to me.
