I enjoy the music/aesthetic of your pixel art, I also really like the idea you present here, my true and only gripe is the water mechanic. I feel like if you wanted it there, it needs to be tweaked to not respawn every other death/respawn. Heck even just a, "You drown and it removed like a 5x5 area of water", I'm not sure, it just got repetitive having to hit R every other death.
But don't get me wrong, I STILL SUPER LOVE THIS, 4.5/5
