Hi! I'm NNChan, or Queenie. This is my second time participating in My First Game Jam. I'm an illustration graduate who plays too many video games so I'm gonna try to make one! Again!! Recently I joined the art team for Battle Chef Brigade and that's been really exciting.

I learned the ins and outs of Ren'Py last in the last jam when I made Cloud Mage, so now I'm gonna teach myself some other Ren'Py goodness. I'm gonna try to be more organized and make a game I can actually finish in two weeks!

I have so many favourite games, but I'll go ahead and list some games that have stuck with me all this time. There's the Ace Attorney series whose quirky characters and surprising heart always touched me, The Walking Dead Game because I love it when video games make me cry, and Fire Emblem 7 (and the Tellius games) because I loved the characters and how the story wove their backstories together into this warring epic spanning nations and races. Those are just a few.

The only game I've made before is Cloud Mage, a puzzle VN I made in Ren'Py. I did some pretty basic stuff, I used pre-existing code and tweaked it to make a recipe book of sorts, and I learned how to use persistent values and True/False statements to get the outcome I wanted. For this next game, I'm already learning how to use draggables, and maybe someday I will learn how to use lists and arrays effectively. Other things I want to learn for Summer Jam is imagemaps/imagebuttons and I might even try putting in achievements. I'm ready to cut loose and have fun >:3c

I'm passionate about stuff like baking, art, video games, etc etc. I used to pretend I wasn't into cute shit, but, let's be real, I'm REALLY into cute shit.

Hello Queenie! I'm Alex. This is my first jam and it just so happens that I also want to make a game in Ren Py. I've seen the trailer for that cooking game you're working on and I'm really impressed. 2D animation in games is so needed and t looks so good!

I'm currently drafting ideas for a visual novel. Someone's input on someone who already has experience would be great. If you're interested, feel free to ask and in any case, wish you the best of luck in this thing! Cheerio.

Hi Alex! I don't work on the animations for Battle Chef (I do 2D art for the items, props, and food ingredients) but I agree, I love 2D animation in games too :>

I'm totally open to chatting. I pop in on the forums and the slack channel every so often, and I'll definitely be around when the jam starts. One of my favourite parts of the last game jam was being able to share feedback as games were being made.

Good luck to you too!

Ah, that sounds really cool. The feedbackpart sounds really important for a project that has to progress fast. Maybe I will check the chatroom, thank you.
