I like the game, looks good and good puzzle idea.
Nice implementation of the themes!
maybe instead of falling off the ledge the player just gets feedback that the move is not possible and nothing happens (maybe this has some use, later on, I ran into a bug I think, all my buttons just moved me to the right).
Would be nice with an easier way to restart.

Yeah the player feedback on failure is definitely bad, I think adding a fall animation or like you said just preventing the move would have been better.
That may not have been a bug you encountered, but the "stick" mechanic I added to the rose. Unfortunately the only way you can tell you're stuck is by the sound, which is definitely not ideal.
