Hey, we have a pretty similar concept for our games!! (^u^)

Also, The game is pretty cool, the graphics are awesome and the game feels pretty polished. Like many other said the WebGL version lags pretty heavly and sometimes the game (Win and Web Verison) crashes. For your first game jam, this is an Awesome entry!! REALLY Good Job!!

Some Notes:

  • The player is too fast and slides around too much
  • A thing i also noticed while developing my game is that switching the Up/Down key when the gravity changes is pretty unintuitive, not to mention that is more hard to control this way
  • In your game there are ways to lock yourself from progressing, even in the first level where you should be able to learn the basics, the player will feel pretty confused on what to do in those moment, especially since you never tell them that you can restart the level
  • I see you added Koyote Jump, nice job!! If you really want to nail your player controller i also suggest you to add Jump Buffer as well (or extend the time/frames of it, if it's already in the game)
  • Disable The Trail when you die, and re-enable it once you respawned. It's weird seeing the player died and a random trail going to the top-left corner of the screen
  • With enough speed, you can doo this:

  • Also in some point in the game you can fall to infinity. I suggest you to add some Auto-Retry zones and/or a Camera confiner
  • Space pauses the game, with no way to unpause it :/

I got stuck in level 5, but form what I've played so far the game is a masterpiece, Again, Good Job!!

EDIT: I often don't ask this, but I'll be a very happy boy if you'd check out my game!! (^D^)

*Obviously 5 star rating*

I'm glad that you liked it. I played your game and saw that we do have similar concepts; I like it too. It really doesn't have Koyote Jump. I think it's just how the collision is set for the player. The reason why the player can fall into infinity is that I was going to add a death effect on when it happens. Like the camera will focus on a text above the level but sadly, I didn't have the time.

If you're still stuck at level 5, here's the walkthrough for the whole game:
