The itch.io version of the game is officially no longer supported, and should be removed from sale.
As much as I have all the usual reasons people have to hate Epic, I'd still say you're better off buying there than Steam if the price is comparable. At least they haven't spent 18 months with their game launcher being a known health hazard and taken no steps to do anything but block users form accessing a safe workaround in that time.
