Beautiful looking game with high polish. It took me quite a while to workout how to get to the upgrades menu but made it much more fun to play after I worked it out. I would suggest making the bounce bullets and the double split bullets just as strong as the first one as when it felt like I was suppose to be upgrading, it felt like I had become weaker and taking longer to defeat the enemies. Also noticed that the enemies would get stuck along the walls sometimes, so maybe incorporating some kind of path finding to take this game to the next level. Overall, great job!

I don't think it was that the new weapons were weaker, its that enemies also grow in hit points half as fast as the player does. So by purchasing an upgrade(any upgrade) the enemies gained an additional health point. I wanted the enemies to be able to "evolve" also, so they wouldn't become irrelevant in the later part of the game. As for the stuck on the walls issue, I wanted to implement pathfinding, I'm just not sure on how to get it to work in construct at the moment. I used it and it did nothing. I even watched a few tutorials on it and it didn't seem to work correctly. So, in light of timing I just made them stop on solids, otherwise the enemies would have hit the wall and then jittered all around. Thanks for the comments on the polish. I wont a specific aesthetic(spelling?) with this game which was "organic" so I hope i kind of hit on that a little bit.
