what do you have to do to get logan's first heart?

My memory about it is vague, but it has something to do with the full moon quest(werewolf quest). Try following that quest and you will get his first heart. 

Although I think you must get the good ending in the bandit quest, first. Because IDK if it's still possible to get his first heart on the bad ending.

Well, to me. I just pick Logan instead of Bernard when the werewolf came to Barshade. And I still have Bernard with 3 hearts. And holy crap it's so sad when i picked him.

No logan on his corrupted route won't have a romantic route. You have to have deterred him from going to the camp. And you get his first heart by "curing" him from his lycanthropy.
