The name, is great really stood out and I found it pretty hilarious. The setup is pretty good as well and the genre mix up is executed pretty well I had a lot of fun trying to uh... definitely play legit by stacking endless plants on top of each other and then just getting all the gold. As for some specifics tho:
- The counters for both money and ammo were well done, but personally felt a little out of the way for me, I would've preferred them at the bottom near the health bar or something. Though that's also down to my very spam heavy plant buying where I ended up having to try and survive without any money until some spawned.
- It was interesting to see what seemed to a be a bit of auto aim to compensate for the camera angle and controls blocking vertical aiming which was cool, I was a bit worried that I would be unable to hit the higher enemies but that never ended up being an issue. All that did, were the hordes.
- As for the hordes, the turrets felt a little weak especially when it came to dealing with such giant groups of drones, though the timer never really seemed to be the issue, it seemed to more be down to the fire rate. Honestly I feel like the despawn timer was almost too long while the fire rate was too low.
- Something that was a little weird to me was the fact that the plants block you but not the bullets from either you or the drones, or the drones themselves, even when they seemed to be on the same height. I feel like it could be interesting to maybe take a bit of a plants vs zombies approach and add some sort of plant variant? Ex. something that blocks 3 attacks but gives no money when fully grown, etc..
- To finish off the rooftop you are on felt relatively small, especially when the drones start coming in hordes and you're attempting to walk around your plants. Maybe adding say, multiple levels that you get to after surviving however long which may be there, I just only survived a few minutes with no indication that then increases the enemy count and the rooftop size? Just an out there suggestion though.
Overall, definitely not the genre mashup I was expecting when I read it, but definitely enjoyable. Personally I really enjoy the strategy of TD games so I'd lean heavily into suggesting more turret variants etc. but it's all up to you.
