Adding extra enemies doesn't necessarily make it more difficult if you make them quicker to kill ☺️ you can make a really easy game with lots of enemies. You could, for example, add 4x the number of enemies, make it so half of them die in one hit, and make it so only a few of them can shoot at a time. By doing this, you give the player a lot more visual feedback that something cool is happening! I'd strongly recommend you try it. This sort of thing makes it more fun to play without changing the difficulty! It's not about making it more difficult, or more tailored to experienced players, it's about making it more fun for everyone 😁
