(Shore!)
It is the dead of night and Asrian is performing his nightly duties, providing light for the mortals and keeping the darkness at bay. Currently, he is collecting shooting stars. He walks through an open field in front of a castle, although it seems he's at the back since it's less heavily guarded. Although it wouldn't have mattered anyway-they can't even see him.
Maven was outside of her balcony wishing she could get out there and not stay stuck up in some castle she sees shooting stars often and she always wished for a better life hoping someone would help her or save her from how she was feeling she always had to act proper and wear uncomfortable dresses she would cry every night so when she did wake up she had to put makeup on and cover up the way she looked and she hated it,it was mearily her 16th birthday meaning she would have to find a prince which wasnt on her mind and it had never crossed it either
Asrian looks up and sees a shooting star. He jumps up and catches it-he can't fly, but he can jump very high and float back down. Although Maven can't see him, she does see a falling star suddenly extinguish from the sky. As he's jumping up, he catches a glimpse of her on her balcony. Asrian heart skips a beat at seeing her, and he can't help but notice how sad she looks. He puts the star into his satchel and jumps back up, clinging to the balcony to get a better look at her, face only a few feet away from hers, studying her.
(she can't see him btw-mortals can't see gods unless they give them a blessing to see them-)
Maven saw the shooting star and was obviously confused but she kinda brushed it off she thought about how it was her birthday tomorrow and started to cry a bit as soon as she started to cry she looked at the sky and smiled a bit still crying she reached out for the moon and smiled fully
"as long as i've got you to talk to..im happy.."
her dad came to her balcony and said
"Maven..tomorrow you have to pick a man who will willingly take your hand in marriage as for him also.."
"Dad..you know i don't want to get married..im only 15 turning 16 tomorrow.."
"Maven..i do not want to hear that inappropriate language...especially from your father..you shall respect me in a respectful major.."
"Dad..I don't want to get married..that is final."
"Maven..your getting married.."
"Dad..let me love someone..let me be happy with someone who thinks i look pretty like this!.."
she turned around with red puffy eyes and ruined mascara she looked at him with tears in her eyes she looked at him in a way that would make you absolutely melt of sadness
"Maven..where is your makeup..where is it..now..you need to cover that up.."
"Are you fucking kidding me..you can't even look me in the eyes and tell me i look pretty..that's a fucking shame..i've been dealing with this for the longest..I am done with your bullshit..!"
her voice sounded as hard as rock yet if she cried it would soften in a bit she already had a tear in her eyes and her voice had already been starting to break
