Okay, so I want to lay down my main criticism with this game first: the interactive side of this brings very little to the table. You get two splitting dialogue choices that don't have different results in dialogue. For lack of a better term, I think this is... kind of lame. It feels more like a literature piece where turning the page involves clicking buttons and less like a piece of interactive storytelling.
That being said, that doesn't change the fact that the prose here is great. It's fantastic, even. The way that the narrator's thoughts bounce back and forth from the benefits to the burdens of their decision is a solid dynamic that kept me engaged in reading the text. In addition, seeing that your main goal with this was to "set-up a project using Inky," something that you say will help you in making more software in the future, I can't hold my main gripe against this game too much.
I look forward to seeing how your writing manifests in future projects
