not sure if you are already aware of this, but neither of the current android versions work on my android phone...is a fix to the android version in the cards for anytime soon?

No. I was not aware of this. I've had over 81 people download the Android Build for Build 4 and this is the first time I am hearing about it.
In a few hours I'll upload the Armeabi Version of 0.4.3 to Google Drive and DM you on Discord to see if that version works.
Hopefully it is as simple as that.

I have an iPhone IRL so I rely on Android Studio's features to test Android Builds. Usually the Universal Versions. Most of the time when I test major updates on the Android Studio's feature the Universal Version will fail installing the first time but install perfectly fine every time after that. So that would be my second guess.
