I just beat the game! It took quite a few tries on level 2, as I think there are only 3 tentacles? I beat it I think 3 times before for some reason it just said I won. I liked how the corruption grew as the level went on, and it did make it feel like a race. I did think the 'pits' of corruption were too punishing though, as I usually got stuck in them and could not get out, so it was usually a game over anytime I missed a platform.
For anyone playing this game, dash UP! It took me a while to figure out you could dash up and at a diagonal, and thats when the game really became possible.
I appreciated the controller support, and I did beat it with a controller, but it would have been even better if the analog sticks worked as well.
