I'm sorry, this just didn't feel very good to play at all. It took me a while to even figure out what to do, and when I did, it was really hard to control. I get that the point is that you have to wrestle over control of the other character, but it was just too uncontrollable.

Hi, I am one of the developers of this game. What you have described is one of the difficulties to be accepted. If you could manage calmly, the game would be too simple and uninteresting.
I will give an example with 3d tanks: the sight could immediately aim at the mouse cursor (or whatever control is there), but instead, there is a real muzzle, which eventually moves towards the sight. Probably, he will insist to complain about this, but you just need to accept.
