I liked the idea of using string for the puzzles and having clear information on how many steps can I take (information horizon). 

Maybe on a new iteration you can setup the dungeon like a messy floor with things dropped in the ground.

Yeah I've learned a lot about level design through the process of making this game and hopefully next I do a better job of it (:
