5/5 on all 3 categories. Easily the best game I've played in the entire jam so far.

The characters are incredibly cute and well made. I love all the little details about them. The music fits the mood of the game perfectly. The SFX fit well with the characters and adds to the cuteness of the game. The art style of the entire game is matching.

I love the way you made keys into bugs. That's really neat.

The in-game tutorial is really good. Serve bite-sized information when it becomes relevant. I'll be adding this to my future jams from now on!

Apart from the production value, I felt like you came up with really interesting puzzles too. In Particular the puzzle where the green character had to get the key with the platforms. Even though it can't move on its own, it was able to help its bro!

I think there's two things I would point out:

  1. It was not obvious how the throw mechanic works. I almost gave up before realising that you just have to use momentum to throw. I think that could be communicated with the in-game tutorial.
  2. The key bindings are a bit weird, enter is really far away from A/D and space. I think maybe E or Q or both even would've been decent throw keys!

I can't stop smiling about this game. Congrats on making an awesome game. I really hope you turn this into a full game!

wow, thank you very much for such kind words! I'm genuinely touched, and I'm sure my partner in crime will feel the same. <3

both points noted and appreciated. totally agree with the first one. unfortunately, we ran out of time to think the tutorial through. the next step for us will be making it clearer without any text at all.

ideally, the controls are a subject of a player's preference but we didn't have any script for controls binding to borrow for this project (frankly, almost no pre-made script to quicken the process). it doesn't seem very suitable for a game jam prototype but I think maybe it'd be beneficial to have at least a couple of options next time?

we are absolutely going to continue developing the game as we both are very happy with it despite its flaws.

once again, thanks a lot for this. hopefully, we are to share some experience with each other, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you're going to come up with next :)
