You guys don't like to make it easy on yourself! This is a very ambitious project - for better and worse.

The good:
* The visuals. It should go without saying at this point that with D4yz on the team, the game is going to be a looker. There's a lot of artwork here and it's all clean and stylish.
* The music. Lau's adaptive soundtrack works wonders in setting the appropriate tone, and the fact that it's all one big song makes the game feel... big. Instead of being a section of little levels and little songs, everything is contained in one big expanse; the music peaks and dips with the action but never cuts out entirely. It really helps to immerse you in the world.
* The writing. There's a beautiful dark humour that pervades every sentence. It's witty, it's funny, and it pulls you into a sordid world where you're asked to risk life-and-limb just to bring someone a pair of undercrackers.

The bad:
* The gameplay. This is where the game's ambition comes back to haunt it. Running errands interspersed with combat encounters is a great premise (it's pretty much Elite Dangerous, come to think of it), but the execution here lets it down. The moment-to-moment combat isn't very satisfying: given how fast and agile the enemies are compared to my ship, beholden as it is to the fickle whims of Newtonian physics, there's not much incentive to do much more than sit where you are, point at the enemies and plink away with anemic-feeling weaponry. That is until you run into those green things! If those ever show up on your screen, it's game over already. You can't outrun them, and you can't outgun them. Did I mention that you'll encounter them on your way to the second mission objective?
* Poor explanation. There's a lot that the game leaves you in the dark about, such as where you're supposed to take each package, or how to see how much money you have, or why I suddenly couldn't pick up items left behind by destroyed enemies. Given that there are a fair few systems at play here, it's quite frustrating.

Like I said, there's a lot here - maybe too much - so I can't be certain that I've given it a fair shake, in all honesty. I'll come back later and have another go at it.

Thanks for the detailed feedback John, very much appreciated. I went a bit crazy with the difficulty and that really doesn't serve anyone well. But I hope people still find some enjoyment in it all.
