I'm also a beginner game dev like you. I actually don't use any engine. I just use java with IDE is intelliJ IDEA to work with. If you want, i can share my source code but honestly, it's very awful.

Then you should follow some tutorials of Brackey. He has tons of cool videos about Unity and C#, including save/load system, shop.
