Hey there! Thanks for your kind reply and interest.

TL’DR: In regards to your question, current Patreon edition features are not time limited. Likewise, the latest subtitle definitions are only available on Patreon. (^_^); If you like what I do, supporting me on Patreon is the only way to get: continued updates to the software, an open forum to request new features, a direct way to access my time, and ensure that I continue to work on Jav-It and support it’s maintenance in the future.

Long answer:

The base itch.io version already does what I set out to do, and in fact, I would have given it away for free to the community. However, I added a small token donation just to weed out unreasonable people who expect I give them 100% of my time, without giving anything back in return. So I don’t have any plans to significantly update it beyond general bug fixes and smaller quality of life changes. The reason I have a Patreon edition is because advancing this project comes at a personal heavy cost (basically at the expense of all my free time and personal funds to keep it going). I don’t mind working on this project, as there is nothing on the internet which can match what Jav-It does. However, I promised myself that I would only put in work that was directly proportional to the amount of people who would support it. That way, I wouldn’t feel burnt out giving up essentially 100% of my free time, for something people don’t appreciate. Perhaps in the future if I am lucky enough, I will get enough Patreon supporters that I could consider working on this full time. (One can wish!)
