Hi, I downloaded your game after a long hiatus and I felt like going back to your game again to enjoy it once more. When I checked the downloaded zip file of the PC version from a virus scanner, it showed a trojan.generic.gyxrm and it said that that file alone is malicious, is there any way to fix this problem? I would like to enjoy the game but I worry for that one file deemed to be malicious. I appreciate the help in advance.

Have you tried redownloading the game? If the file keeps, then it probably is a false positive.

I might try and redownload the game again. If the same file keeps appearing then I might download the previous version instead.

I redownloaded both the latest and previous version. both contained the same file which deemed malicious by the scanner, what should I do next

You need kaspersky or something like that.It happened to you because you were infected.

The Trojan.Generic could come back on your PC or Mac several times if you do not manage to detect and remove its hidden files and main objects. We suggest that you download an advanced removal software for your computer as it will scan for all types of malicious objects, installed with it. Removal attempt with a professional cleaner for Mac or Windows can happen in about 15 minutes time and may save you hours in trying to uninstall Trojan.Generic by yourself.

I downloaded kaspersky and did a full scan and it didn't find any virus. Should I dowloaded the latest version again?

I don't know ,you'd better play on your phone.

It is your computer's problem, your PC may became the botnet of the hacker.,i guess.

You may need to reinstall your computer,if kaspersky couldn't help you.

The virus is disguised as a system file, that's why we call it "Trojan",it's hard to detect.

I see... this is quite unfortunate on my side. Should I refresh my PC or reset my PC?

Upload important files to the Cloud and reset your PC,we use  "Ghost (it's a software)" to reset PC in China.Did you use "Ghost"  or reset your PC before?

I don't think I have the software with me since my dad bought this second hand laptop. I haven't reset my PC before and my uncle said that I shouldn't do it without a software or it wouldn't be able to properly download the system and such. Going back to the kaspersky topic, My uncle said that I should probably upgrade my version to premium in order to be more secured. I also did a selective scan to the zip file of the latest version and it detected nothing so I thought it'd be better if I delete the zip file.

What file is it detecting as malicious? It's probably a false positive.

I switched to a newer version of renpy while doing the 0.30 update. It was a quite fresh version too and from what I learned some antiviruses were still thinking the renpy was a virus. Probably in time it should stop showing it (I actually hoped it's already going to be better).
I think it should be safe, just antivirus not recognizing the renpy app.
