Even with the walk-through, we prefer if people go in blind. We designed the game around there not being a best ending or an optimal course of action. All decisions will have both negative and positive outcomes, and which is the best is going to come down to personal preference. You won't bump into bad endings unless you deliberately go out of your way to get them.

It does. It affects what guests you get, your exploration results, Asterion's affection, how some characters interact, etc.
