The charged blast in blast mode acts as a jump. You switch modes by pressing spacebar on desktop. A good maneuver to get used to is charge blasting relatively downwards, switch to hover mode, and continue your momentum upwards.

I tested the map both in VR and desktop extensively and in desktop it is very much completeable (My fastest is about 4 mins on desktop). At some points you will need to look backwards but for the most part you can get away with aiming straight down.

I'm glad you got to try it :) I hope you can make it to the end!

Aha - with your tips I was able to make it past the first few jumps on Desktop. I'd suggest that you only require one mechanic at a time for your first few obstacles / challenges for a smoother difficulty ramp. For example:

  1. Hover-Only obstacle
  2. Shoot-Only obstacle
  3. Hover-and-Shoot obstacle
  4. Charged Blast obstacle
  5. Charged Blast and Shoot obstacle
  6. Charged Blast and Hover obstacle

I think the Charged Blast & Hover is the hardest mechanic as it requires tricky aiming, switching and timing so your players will get further and have more fun if they work up to it.

It could also be helpful to have some sort of UI element to show which mode you're in, it's easy to lose track right now.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll go ahead and add a UI element today.  In the future I think I'll redesign the level with more of a ramp-up but for now I'll add a little tip and adjust the difficulty of the first couple obstacles to help explain the switching mechanic better.

Thanks for giving it another shot :)
