This has since been updated. I managed to get the download to 1/5th of its previous size in the new update

Making it Unreal bloated it up quite a bit unfortunately, assuming you're talking about file size

Yeah same boat, I can't make an online build. Kinda regret using Unreal now lol

The visuals and music really compelled me to get to the end. I loved this entry! It was a bit short but I think the level of punishment for messing up made sense for it. Very well done :)

I love grappling hooks in this game so this felt good to me. I was only able to get to about 25% (near the bricks) before it was becoming too difficult but I really like how well put together this game is. Well done :)

Fun little idea, is the floor always supposed to reset to floor 2 though if you mess up? Seemed strange that that was always the floor it would send it back too. Well done for being made in one day though :)

The music and visuals are really good. The mechanic, while simplistic, does its job. Overall it does fit the theme. Well done :)

For me, one of the most difficult entries I've played so far. Great concept but extremely punishing and difficult to master.

Really good! One of the few games I finished for the jam without it feeling 'easy'. Here's my time :).

Super impressed you did this in 2 days, hats off to you for that.

I gave it a good try, the mechanic is simple and fun! I managed to get to the button and black door however it seemed like the door just wasn't moving so idk if that was something I was doing wrong or it was a bug.

Very fun movement mechanic! Visuals and music are very well done too. Haven't gotten to the top yet but I think this will be one I revisit.

An ez winner, not much else to be said. Fantastic work.

I like how you can approach climbing in different paths! Sadly I did get stuck in the ground after falling from a very high height. I was very close to finishing. This is simple and sweet though so I may come back to it later.

Ah, got it

Curious about this requirement. I've already set up my github repo and submitted but why is it important that you're able to compile entries from scratch?

Thanks for the feedback! I'll go ahead and add a UI element today.  In the future I think I'll redesign the level with more of a ramp-up but for now I'll add a little tip and adjust the difficulty of the first couple obstacles to help explain the switching mechanic better.

Thanks for giving it another shot :)

The charged blast in blast mode acts as a jump. You switch modes by pressing spacebar on desktop. A good maneuver to get used to is charge blasting relatively downwards, switch to hover mode, and continue your momentum upwards.

I tested the map both in VR and desktop extensively and in desktop it is very much completeable (My fastest is about 4 mins on desktop). At some points you will need to look backwards but for the most part you can get away with aiming straight down.

I'm glad you got to try it :) I hope you can make it to the end!

As the main dev, that's how I would boil it down as well... I'm glad you enjoyed the concept though!

;)

I definitely wanted to add more mechanics. Sadly the bugginess of the tether itself was a sore spot as I couldn't get it to spawn/work consistently. I'm glad you enjoyed the concept though :)

Thanks!

Thanks! I wish I had more time to iron out bugs and add more mechanics but unfortunately was cut short :( Better luck next time I suppose

Very good. Definitely Top 100 if not Top 20.

I easily felt compelled to play through all the levels. All aspects of the game fit well together and I felt challenged but not /too/ challenged. Very well done!

Fun game! I really like the art especially. The little touches on the win screen with the slow-scrolling score was a nice added touch. Well done :)

Yes! I'm glad I decided to check this page today on a whim

Hi! I'm a programmer using this as an opportunity to learn more about unreal engine and the steamvr input plugin! Contact me if you're interested. I also have a basic understanding of modeling and texturing with blender/Photoshop and am familiar with Ableton Live for music production.
