Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Six-Core Processor (4.2 GHz)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8.0 GB)
RAM: 16 GB
Operating System: Windows 10 (10.0.18362)
Hope this helps. I also tried running in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
Your specifications should be more than adequate to run Abroad. There are a few things that could be causing your issue:
Make sure that Abroad is not in a directory with special characters (characters from a foreign language, etc.)
Make sure you update your drivers.
To further help you diagnose the issue if none of the above work, I need a bit more information - do you have the problem on any other renpy games?
The problem probably lies in your AMD processor's interaction with the renpy. I found a relatively dated thread with someone describing the same issue that you have. The thing that doesn't add up is that other renpy games work on your computer. Abroad doesn't have anything out of the norm of renpy games on startup.
