The issue with the days and nights is a tricky one. I didn't want the nights to be too long, because it was getting a bit frustrating waiting around for villagers to wake up. But thematically, I felt that the days shouldn't be noticeably longer than the nights (since it's autumn).
Meanwhile, for calculating game time purposes, a cycle that is exactly divisible by 60 is particularly convenient. So currently, we have 25 seconds for day, 5 seconds for dusk, 25 seconds for night, and 5 seconds for dawn. I could try doubling all that, but I hesitate to depart from this general model.
