Good job! There's a good base to build on top of.
As Mag said there's trouble win the night cycle (I waited for more than 4 minutes and it never went back to day) But the concept is there and that can be updated and fixed.
I can think of some things that could make it better right away: animations for the character, player guidance (arrows, easier to find paths or some sort of indicator of where things are), change the render order of some sprites (leaves/grass gets over of the character), place the village closer...)
I think from here you could expand and add to the gameplay (power ups? different attacks? minions? turrets? better enemies?) but overall it's a good jam entry. Congratulations!
