I'm glad I got a chance to play and rate this just before the voting ended. I felt demented killing those poor little chicks, then when I came back here to leave a comment I saw the game's thumbnail and saw them skewered on the sword. What did chicks do to you!?

The visuals are great, the player felt good to control and move around. I was hoping the game would evolve into another phase, I thought for sure I'd face a boss after collecting enough souls, but for a jam game this was a good time and an awesome effort by a solo dev.

Great work.

I appreciate the kind words and feedback, and I'm glad you enjoyed!

On mention of the phase/boss/evolving topic, my original design intention was to just have the mama hen spawn as an actual boss fight , angered by the fate of her babies. However as the jam was nearing an end, I ran out of time and decided to just implement her as a constant hazard. More hens spawn in the lil chambers as you collect more souls, (up to 6 total),  so I was happy to atleast have that difficulty ramp and gameplay evolution with what little time I had. I think the phrase I hear more in jams than anywhere else goes something like "I didn't have enough time". All in all I enjoyed making it, and people enjoyed playing it, I'm just glad to be here lol.
