Thank you for this. Though it's a different language for me, it's incredibly relatable; being unable to talk to one half of your family is painful. The small touches--just saying no, words being an absolute jumble, flashing text of the heartbeat--really helped to sell the experience.
In my case, it's terminal illness, and the drawn-out-ness of that, but the thought of this happening....ow.
