I am sure that the patrons enjoy branching stories

To a certain extend, I guess.

The average player will probably try and play the paths which contents pleases him and try to avoid the ones that would make him uncomfortable.

From that perspective, all the time I spend working on a path the player doesn't like is probably wasted.

The only thing about that is that there will be a core path and then different people will get uncomfortable  with different paths.  I know that I  saves for 4 of the paths and I  think that  there are 6(7?) paths  that continue after day 5.

My point is that the one of the paths I didn't take I  seen comments for people liking.  So yes, for me the other  paths are wasted time but for someone else they are just fine.  If you want to trim things down  post a patreon  poll of what paths did you take.  And then gently end/kill the path(s) that lose or are not above some thresh hold.

Last time I checked there was something like 18 differents possibilities.

I won't trim things down. Right from the start of the development of the game, I  planned an early ending for some paths. That will ease the work to some extend but not by much. Most of the paths will stretch to the end of the week.
