There is no "free version". There is only a single game and a Patreon Supporters code, which unlocks some niche features but nothing relevant to this topic. I have verified that repeat viewing works both with and without the code.
There is no reason that you should be limited in viewing the gallery scenes. The gallery progress is saved in the user data folder in the progressdata file, which is used for every progress and even alternate program folders.
If you are playing an older version than 1.0d, then there are some bugs that prevent some characters or scenes from unlocking. Also, older versions can have errors without crashing, so even if the game appears fine lots of things can be broken. If you are playing with any mods, then please list those. Though I am not aware of any with such a bug, and the Bugfix mod does not fix anything relevant.
