Thanks for the article. You've made some good points and I would like to address them properly in a devlog if I get time.

Mostly it all boils down to the compromises you make in a game jam, I used a lot of time up learning new things and that meant I didn't have much time left to spend on actual game dynamics. Still, I was pretty pleased with the number of people giving similar feedback that validates some of my choices, as I say, would love to do a proper write-up
