Have you extracted the content of the archive (the .zip file) in a new folder dedicated for the game ? Also are you on 32 or 64 bits ?

Yes, I extracted it into its own folder. I am on 64 bit. I also noticed that I have problems with other applications, so I guess I have problems with my pc. I should start cleaning up a bit. Thanks for answering.

My best bet :

Make sure your C drive has at least 10gigs free.
Run Antimalware / virus (I recommend Malwarebytes)
Make a new session on your computer and start selectively transfering what you want to keep over it. Make sure to transfer all administrator rights to it including using your Microsoft login there instead by converting the previous one to a local account.
If none of the above worked, try running a system repair. You'll have to Google how because it can vary from a machine to another.
