Was writing all this wrong? It took a while, partially because I'm not a native English speaker. I wanted to be honest, now I'm disappointed by the lack of feedback......

Serious spoilers ahead + theory and review

Read only after your own playthrough

This'll be a lot btw and hopefully enlightening in a way, also hopefully not too much of a "mumbo jumbo" (game reference)

Shortly before writing this an idea struck me about what might have happened, solidified and sparked by what is written above along with two more. From how strange everything seems as well as the words "...The only question is: what has become of it?" several theories came to mind: either the "new world" is in fact Cyrus' old world after after the apocalypse, he got saved from his old world because he's special, OR all of his old-world-memories are entirely fabricated. Basically everything is possible at this point in the story. We know way too little. Although, there's one last thing that strikes me as odd, the metal objects in Cyrus's back. Who else got them? Right, the people in The Matrix. Now I doubt he's literally in a simulation, but the thing about not feeling pain at all is also pretty strange to say the least. It's already been made obvious he's been in some crazy biology or chemistry experiments, perhaps the Lodestars are involved. He found his too easily, unless the plants feed on the energy stored inside that's why it was simply there.

However, I can't make heads or tails about why Cooper took him in, then sold him out for no apparant reason whatsoever as far as we know. And I won't lie, that angered me a lot. On to my next statement: I seriously hate this turn of events. The dynamic between Cooper/Lance/whatever and Cyrus is actually one of the greatest in the entire FVN world, even reminding me of another one in a story I'm currently reading, Arthur Leywin and Regis – The Beginning After the End.

If I could get some reassurance about Cooper's future role... Otherwise I'll just pretend this read never happened. I guess? Once I read an insanely complex and extremely thrilling story, but everyone dies in the end, including the protagonist. Even though the scenarios are different, you can kind of compare the two. The thing is what happened in Anders was a type of closure, albeit a terrible one. Unfortunately in case of Remember the Flowers, we will likely constantly think about 'Cooper', and if the protagonist will unite with him again, the next few updates long. I do highly doubt we've seen the "yellow triangles" for the last time, but "who's to say"? Well, he showed us his goods, Damion didn't who we don't know much about, yet at least, so we thankfully can't connect to him very well... Though now even Cooper's former gang joined the fray, with sprites no less...

I'd appreciate if someone could tell me what the (only) in game song is called, it's really awsome. The sprites are pretty amazing too, even if not the most detailed ever. They're pretty expressfull and the beastmen are cute. The story was already enough to keep me captivated, probably partially because it feels weirdly convoluted. Maybe the reason why is we know next to nothing and therefore have to think so much. Basically everything screams conspiracy.

I truly want to see more, more of Cooper too. I don't dare judge him without knowing the "why", too biased towards him, hopefully not for naught. But I have a hard time pinpointing what exactly my feelings/thoughts for Remember the Flowers are. On the one side of the spectrum, I adore it, the other side tells me to stay skeptical for now, like Cyrus is curious yet cautious toward the world around him. Last but not least, on that note, would be great if he could answer other than with "Okay" all the time. Heh

The "protagonist is unconscious but the reader's not" trick at the end was a smart cliffhanger and kinda clever to get little more information across. Nicely done.

No matter, despite my rambling I wish you all the helping hands needed and for this VN to blow off. It has tons of potential and the exceptional writing is showing quality & quantity – not just saying that. Seriously, good luck finishing the game! (Is there a Patreon build? I'm interested)

You asked for the name of the only in-game song, but the games files include thirteen songs (Or twelve and one duplicate).  If you want to find it though, just take a look in the 'game' folder and then the 'audio' folder.

Paralytic Insomnia by David Hilowitz and Anoitecer by Guifrog are the most song-like, so its probably one of those that you are thinking of.

Guess I made a bit of a fool of myself. Not sure why I didn't notice any other, except the title song. You're right, I'll have to check the files for sureproof. Thanks for reminding me.

then what about his headaches, we know that they dont come out at random(well sometimes) but the components or (something) are connect to the his spine and all the way i think to the head? which leads to a medical disease called CIPA(congenital insensitivity to pain) but the problem with that is he feels pain on the head only, no where else?

unless the components are making him feel pain only on the brain no where else just the brain? idk about this but its a theory    .......... kinda? but its stretch.

Ahh yes, they're strange too. Your insight raises more questions. Well, that's the reason why I wrote "at this point everything is possible, because we know too little". Yet another theory would be the headaches have to do with his amnesia.

For right now, I think we're better off just betting on the fact that what's happening is real. I know it seems strange to think that he just got there somehow, but he is remembering things about (a) life. Whether they are real or fake, we aren't exactly far enough into the story to know anything yet...if you think about it, all we got was a flashback or two of Damion and "character development" of Cyrus and Cooper. This update was kind of a big "haha you really thought" moment, and we are once again left in a situation where we don't know the people around us. There are no answers except "I got scammed".

The "I don't know how I got here moment" is standard isekai, although most retain their memories after transportation/reincarnation etc.

I doubt that what's happening is fake or in Cyrus' head, it seems too real and wouldn't make sense unless explained properly.

Aside from Damion there was their or Cyrus' (girl) friend, whatever her name was, in the flashbacks as well.

We've most definitely not seen "Cooper" for the last time, the time they spent together contained too many emotions and too much information to just end right then and there. It's been, as you say, character development, perhaps even growth but without a doubt did they bond.

For more speculations we need to have presented more puzzle pieces.

My speculation is : that "Cooper" called the crew at the end to rescue MC, after seeing his back while still on the train... It's unclear why he thought what he was doing was somehow justified to begin with, but seeing the metal pieces seemed to shock and upset him, and it was mentioned that he was writting angrily on his gizmo after that. (I think he only realised at that moment that he was "lied to" about how people like the MC are treated at the place or something, but was too deep in the situation already to make a 360 change of course....so he made the best out of his situation....getting some of the money as well.... ) I'm almost positive he will be back close to immediately as an ally.

On another note, I don't think the memories MC has are fabricated. Habitants of the "new world" for example, use swear words from the MC's world, while they themsleves don't even know where said swears originated from in the first palce .

Now....This point can only be considered valid , if we can take what "Cooper" said about this as the truth...and i think we can...in order for him to be able to lie so casually about this, or feeling the need to even lie about it... IF MC is indeed living a simulation.... Then "Cooper" must be aware of the "simulations" in great detail, which would require him to be an agent of "the bad guys" instead of a third party delivery boy, as well as seeing the MC being connected to a machine at least once , and that just can't be the case. (1 His reaction to seeing the MC's back was genuen, as it completely changed his mood going forward...2 he has a kind of bad relationship with the "bad guys" met at the end....)I think it's safe to say he was just in need of easy money, and didn't ask as many questions as he should have, taking his jobs......

I believe MC was simply kept in a hibernation of some sort (for whatever reason) possibly indicated by MC's long white hair. Perhaps he was kept in a liquid and it dyed his hair?
