Thanks for the feedback! Just curious though, can you tell me where you thought the “lack of thematic connection” was in the game?

I would say that it does take place on a wire, which connects to an energy source, and the bird does dodge the energy source, but the birds interaction isn't really there besides just getting hurt by it, and it could really be anything dodging many possible types of obstacles. I also do say this with the understanding that my game is not too thematically connected itself (just getting energy from a pickup, essentially). You did make a good game though, I was more trying to think of something thoughtful to say beyond thinking you made a great game!

Thanks for replying! I do believe you’re right, it isn’t much of an interesting interaction or use of the theme. Really, I was just more focused on making a small-scope game with fun gameplay, which did definitely sabotage having a more interesting game idea.

I was definitely in the same place with that. Very scope focused. I saw some stuff that even if I did manage to think of, would have had no idea how to even begin coding. I did know how to make number go up when player touches a thing though.
