This looks like a perfect fit for skeletal animation. It's definitely worth it as is, but would be even better if there'd be a rigged Spine export of the character. (Or at least an 'exploded' view with limbs separated to make it easier to rig ourselves)

Bone-animated pixel-art is a bad take IMO😣. I put many hours into giving it smooth hand-tweening AND lots of optional actions. And it's not pre-segmented in a way that would work well for bones...plus I don't feel like making parts from scratch. You can reverse-engineer the parts yourself if you really want.
