It was a really chill game, though there were a few impossible jumps. It was the tumbleweed that did it, it sometimes hits the player as they land due to how it spawns.

The environment was pretty for sure, and I like the passage of time 😊 it didn't really fit the whole "juicy" vibe we were going for for this jam, though 😜 it would've benefitted greatly from:

  • a bunch of VFX when the player gets hit. Flashing sprites, particle effects, screenshake, hitstop, along with some sound effects
  • some more varied spawning - see the chrome dinosaur game for inspiration
  • set the "simulation space" on the particles to "world" instead of local, that way it won't look weird when jumping!
  • the particles behind the player might be better as a trail renderer actuall
