This is an amazing game!
Here's my feedback after spending about 3 hours playing it.
What I liked:
1) Nice sprites, animations and satisfactory feedback effects.
2) Good job on replicating Hollow Knight's movement abilities.
3) Cool achievements system although there's an issue with it (see below for details).
4) Love the link to Mumei's original song and other clips for context of the references! (those cats look just like the ones in the clip, nice!)
5) The Boss fight was really challenging! I gotta say you really replicated the HK experience! I went through HELL to get that Dash ability. (GOOD JOB)
Things that could be improved:
1) The game DOES NOT SAVE progress when you exit. I lost all my achievements. Good thing I took a screencapture when I finally got the hardest one. Please fix this if you can, as it can ruin the player experience!
2) Settings are not remembered when closing and opening the game, probably linked to the previous point.
3) Part of the screen is not visible in ultrawide monitor. I had to force the game to run in 16:9 resolution using the command line.
4) There doesn't seem to be a use for the "currency" we get from killing creatures.
5) I couldn't get the map to work from the get go. Only after I remapped the key, it worked (I only tried that after I had practically cleared the whole forest area lol)
6) The map should also show a hint to where the next objective is. I have no clue if there's any more content after obtaining the dash skill or where the exit of the forest area is.
7) Pogoing is not something the player can easily figure out on their own, especially if they're not familiarized with Hollow Knight. A hint to help the player would be nice. PS: I totally didn't expect vertical pogo off "walls".
8) Also Pogoing is EXTREMELY difficult when you need to do fast direction changes (boss fight), since you need to move the mouse all over the screen. Directional attack using a combination of movement keys and an attack key on the keyboard would make for a less painful experience.
9) It would be amazing if the YouTube videos could be played inside the game, but I know there's no straightforward way of implementing it.
10) Some "clips" actually point to a whole stream from the start, not sure if that was intended. For example the one pointing to Fauna's Mother simulator stream or the Kalimba one.
I'm proud of getting this one (it took me like 20 tries):
Once again, GREAT JOB ON THIS GAME!
