That's a cool suggestion, the initial idea was to make words to be typed by the player but I had no idea how to load random words into arrays so went with the random character routes instead.

I thought so too. I  also don't know much about gdevelop  random arrays. Not related to jam but I was also doing whack a mole game and run into that problem too. I think we could find  solutions later once you've started to fully develop the game.
