hey thanks for the feedback. I actually set it up with mouse to start with but couldn't decide on a mouse icon (didn't want the default arrow) also I felt that people may get confused thinking that they could throw stars in the direction of the cursor (which I also started with but it didn't look right with the animation) so in the end I settled with buttons.
