I've worked on platformers and I know how hard they can be. That said, you hit a lot of the fundamentals nicely, like coyote time and good-feeling movement. I actually thought the downward slash was super rad and could've been the basis of your entire game.

The rough edges are understandable, given the time you had, but aside from the bugs (like jumping after a screen transition), I think I would've just preferred a little more feedback. I didn't really get a good handle on what the enemies were doing or why, why I was getting hit and they weren't sometimes, etc. Also a few issues with the level design, like putting a transition vertically and immediately causing the player to fall into the pit he just came from and take damage.

The art and sound were great, though, and there's a lot of potential with the controls. I'm pleased with this and you should be, too. Nicely done and congratulations!

Thank you so much for the review! I definitely struggle with enemies when creating games, besides this I've only done any sort of enemy behavior in one other game I have yet to finish. I was actually planning on expanding on them quite a bit but I must've blacked out or something because by the time I got around to it, it was an hour before the deadline! That being said your feedback is so much appreciated, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

You're welcome! We're all developers, and all of us understand that we are making sacrifices for the sake of completion. There are very few times when a piece of feedback can be said that wasn't AT LEAST considered by the developer, but I find it valuable to express it nonetheless, just so you can get the perspective of someone with fresh eyes. I totally understand the concessions you had to make, as I've made hundreds of them myself. You still did an incredible job.
