The missiles track the player in a fun way. The way they gradually curve to target the player makes them fun to avoid. The player's acceleration is so fast that the game felt somewhat awkward to control (not being able to control your jump height didn't help either). It's cool that a game about dodging stuff has a dash, but it was really easy to fall in the gaps in the level when using said dash.
I don't think I would have known that the blue missiles were fake without reading your description. It's not really clear in the game itself.
