I really like the idea,

But the platforming feels so unresponsive, it ignores my jumps most of the time, 

the first level was a bit too annoying as you have to sit through the unskippable cutscene every time you die.

The space/shift to switch words is really nice, and not moving while doing it makes sense from a balance standpoint, you have to choose between moving and seeing obstacles. And later on, you introduce the sprite mask that makes it playable.

I think with some minor tweaks and polish this would be  a nice game

If you remember the problem with jumping happened randomly or only on fire traps?

Usually when I try to run then jump it would just skip my jump.

so if I jump then move it's okay but if I move and then jump it randomly decides not to

Interesting, if it doesn't only happen with fire traps then it's a new bug, thanks for the report
