Nice theme work. I'm a little concerned with the success rolls. Luck looks to be the least lucky of the rolls. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of how this works. I suppose that would mean the difficulty rating would have to be determined then adjusted for the chosen skill.
You make an excellent point. I think part of it was poor word choice. A more thematically accurate way of referring to the rolls would be "By the Book," "Loose Cannon," or "Balanced." The Luck/Loose Cannon rolls are supposed to be "try something crazy, maybe it fails, but luck will be on my side in the aftermath." It's trying to get at that trope of wild card characters (like many secret agent types) succeeding because of the impossible-to-predict outcomes of their chaotic actions.
But as written, yeah, Luck rolls are the least lucky in terms of action success chance. Definitely the first thing I'll edit after judging is over. Thanks!
I actually like that luck is the worst roll. Because your aftermath die is high but your actual roll is low, you're likely to fail but get a good aftermath. And that feels like luck in the movies, cause you don't get what you wanted but it all works out in your favor. Like a "missed the bad guy but hit some important machinery instead"
